A Lifetime of Transitions

What animal walks on four feet in the morning, two feet at noon, and three feet in the evening, yet has only one voice? The riddle of the sphinx?

The human being. – Oedipus’s solution to the riddle

Inspired by Dr. William Bridges and Susan Bridges, Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, I am committed to write a series of blogs posts about transitions in my life. The purpose of these blogs is to demonstrate how to learn from many problems of one's own life and understand not only what is happening but why, when, and how it is happening so that one can move forward with greater wisdom and courage.

Here is an outline of some of the most important transitions in my life.

Morning – Childhood - A time of dependence on significant people.

Mid-morning - Novie Adulthood- A turning point from the end of childhood to being on my own.

Noon – Adulthood - A time for transforming from dependency to independence.

Afternoon – Being a Novice all over again - A time of great influence and deep wisdom.

Do these transitions resonate with your life? I encourage you to read my blogs and then journal your own experiences so that you can deepen your own wisdom and make more sense of your life's transitions.
